After relaxing at the Riu for a few days after the wedding, the newly weds will embark on their Costa Rican honeymoon.
Day 1, Tuesday September 6th: Let the Fun Begin
They will depart the Riu via private shuttle for the lovely and romantic Punta Islita Hotel where they will relax in 'Honeymoon Bliss'.

They will depart around noon via private shuttle for La Fortuna, where the almost perfectly formed Arenal Volcano is located. Once there, they will take a taxi to the luxurious and somewhat famous The Springs Resort and Spa (ABC's The Bachelor was filmed here).

Day 6, Sunday September 11th: Turquoise Waters
Their journey begins today with an early morning scenic drive through rural Costa Rica to Tenorio Volcano National Park. From there they will go on a 4-hour intermediate hike (approximately 7km) through the surrounding tropical rainforest.
But the fun is not over yet... they get to pass by the "ollas" or mud baths and take a moment to relax in the natural hot springs and go to the spectacular Río Celeste waterfall - the perfect place to take photos.

Day 8, Tuesday September 13th: Kayaking on Lake Arenal

Today the happy couple will embark on a pleasant day kayaking on Lake Arenal where breath-taking views of the Arenal Volcano and many different species of birds like the “Flycatcher”, “Kingfisher”, “Great Blue Heron” and “Anhinga” and may be seen. They might hear and see some howler monkeys too! The view is spectacular with the lake on one side, and the volcano on the other.

Day 9, Wednesday September 14th: To the Jungle
This morning the newly weds will depart very early (6am) via tourist shuttle for the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. By means of land and boat they will arrive at their luxury jungle hotel Manatus Lodge , located in the heart of the tropical rainforest in Tortuguero.

Day 10, Thursday September 15: Fish Fish Got My Wish
They will enjoy a half day fishing for tarpon!

Costa Rica has some of the best tarpon fishing in the world and
September, October and November are the 3 best months for tarpon
fishing.
The tarpon are always around the lagoons, rivers and river mouths on the Caribbean Coast and along the Costa Rica / Nicaragua border. Captain Eddie says "I have fished during rainy season and released a 100 pound Tarpon and had a 220 plus pound Tarpon on for 15 minutes, so Tarpon can be caught year round.
Day 11, Friday September 16: Sloths, Monkeys and Iguanas ~ OH my!
Today they will explore the luxuriant tropical wet forest ecosystem
of
Tortuguero by boat. Wildlife literally lurks everywhere you look.

Day 12, Saturday September 17: Bye Bye!
The couple will depart early in the morning by domestic flight (Manatus will take them across the river to the landing strip) via Nature Air at 7am and
arrive in San Jose (Pavas - Tobias Bolaños airport) by 7:30am. A shuttle provided by Nature Air will take them to the San Jose international airport for their return flight home.
