My husband has many interests, and that is one of the reasons I love him. For the moment all his focus is on skateboarding. And who would think that in a Central American country one would find a skate park with a view to die for. Well, Costa Rica comes through again. A little ways away from the city of Tilaran on Lake Arenal is an amazing resort with a world famous skate park. And it's free!
Normally we go to La Fortuna and Arenal to hang out in the thermal
baths and get a free lava show coming out of the volcano. But since my
husband has a new obsession, we decided to try the other side of the lake
where the skate park is located. Now we've seen lake Arenal from the La Fortuna
side and it's, you know, a lake. So when we took a turn around one of
the mountains, we all, including our four year old son, dropped our
jaws and gasped with air. This side of Lake Arenal has got to be one of
Costa Rica's wonders!
So for the next four days, while my husband did front-side and backside flips (teaching my son in between sets) I got to sit back on my lakefront hotel room's patio and just be grateful for these moments.
