About Me:
I moved to Costa Rica several years ago with my dog Oscar (a golden
retriever). I like to say I came here so my dog could retire, but the
truth is that "I
guess I had a mid-life type crisis when I turned 30...
I originally
came to Costa Rica on vacation with the American Horticulture Society
and immediately fell in love with the country. I decided that if I
could find a good job, I would make the move, knowing I could always
return home to Virginia at any point if things did not go well.
It is also imporatnt to know that at this point in my life I
was also motivated and deeply affected by my father who had an undiagnosed nuero-muscular
disease that eventually claimed his life at age 58. I
learned that if there is something you really want to do, Don't Wait!
You may never get the chance to do it. Live life to the fullest
while you can."
So
I took a job working with a popular Costa Rica website and I traveled
around the
entire country writing and photographing for almost three years. I
learned about Costa Rica inside and out, from luxury hotels and hidden
beach nooks to where the most intimate wildlife encounters are to be
found. I've experienced first hand many tours and have visited many of
the national parks and reserves. I have also planned vacations for many
families and couples, and they are ALL happy clients.
I
decided to go out on my own in 2008, and I started MuchaCostaRica.com with a life long friend's older brother Brendan. I hope that my in-depth knowledge and love of Costa Rica will help all of you to experience your perfect vacation.
I also own and operate Tapir Tours, a tour company that offers day trips from Puerto Jimenez to Drake Bay (Osa Peninsula), where a variety of adventures are available: Cano Island, Corcovado National Park, Mangrove tours, horseback riding and more.
