Its easy to get around in Cahuita. Everything is close by, its flat so its easy to bike and taxis are available.

How Do I Get Around When in Town?

Rent a bike and you are set. Since most hotels, beaches and the national park are in such close proximity there's really no need for a car. Walking is another popular option. Taxis are also availabe. Ask around if you don't see any.

Domestic Flights: The Sky's the Limit

Limon's landing strip is the closest to Cahuita, Puerto Viejo, and Manzanillo.

• Two airlines: Nature Air and Sansa offer daily flights during the high season (December 1st through April 20th).
• Flight time: 40 minutes

Public Transport

From San Jose to Cahuita / Puerto Viejo

• Depart from: Gran Terminal del Caribe in San Jose (Calle Central / Avenidas 11 and 13)
• Schedule: 6 am, 10 am, 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm for arrivals in Limon, Cahuita, Puerto Viejo, Bribri and Sixaola
• Travel time: 4 hours direct
• Tip: Direct buses between San Jose and Sixaola normally stop in Cahuita, ask the driver to let you off there.

From Limon to Cahuita / Puerto Viejo

• Depart from: Buses leave from the Limon bus station for Cahuita, Puerto Viejo, Bribri and Sixaola
• Schedule: About every hour beginning at 5 am until 6 pm, with the last bus returning from Puerto Viejo to Limon at 7:30 pm.
