Rincon de la Vieja is the third most active volcano in Costa Rica.
There are nine major eruptive craters, although only one is worthy of a real volcanic performance, the Von Seebach crater.
Its twin crater Santa Maria is 500 meters wide and is the highest peak of the Rincon complex.
The volcano's surrounding area includes a freshwater lake, waterfalls, hot springs, geysers and boiling mud pools. Contact us for a dip.

A Bit of History

About 3500 years ago, a plinian eruption was the last major magmatic eruption and it created the Rio Blanca river basin.
