The Last Big Eruption
Did You Know?
Rincon de la Vieja is the third most active volcano in Costa Rica.
There are nine major eruptive craters, although only one is worthy of a real volcanic performance, the Von Seebach crater.
Its twin crater Santa Maria is 500 meters wide and is the highest peak of the Rincon complex.
The volcano's surrounding area includes a freshwater lake, waterfalls, hot springs, geysers and boiling mud pools. Contact us
