The best windsurfing in Costa Rica is found on Arenal Lake, a 48 square mile, man-made creation. With warm, sweet water and winds reaching up to 40 kilometers per hour, windsurfers are bound to have a long fun ride. You can take windsurfing lessons and rent gear either on the La Fortuna side of the lake by Arenal Volcano, or around the other side near the town of Tilaran.

Arenal Lake has unusually stable wind speeds that average 25mph from December - April. The lake is 24 miles long with average water temperatures of 73° and air temperatures average between 70° and 80°.
