Humpback whales are arriving!!!
We are beginning to see the arrival of our humpback whale friends from the southern hemisphere. They come here every year from July until about October or November to give birth in the warm tropical waters of Costa Rica. They can easily be seen in the Drake Bay, Corcovado, Caño Island and Uvita marine areas near the Osa Peninsula.

We have the longest humpback whale season in the world here as whales from both the northern and southern hemispheres come to Costa Rica. The whales migrating from the south arrive July - October or November and then the whales from the northern hemisphere arrive in March - June.
We also have huge populations of resident dolphins too, so its very likely that on any given day of the year, there are marine mammals to be seen. Read more about Dolphin & Whale watching in Costa Rica.
